Jalapeno Poppers

by Dave
(Darwin)

I came across this idea on a trip to America some years ago, I've changed a few things around, They deep-fried theirs whereas I bake mine.

Ingredients-

1 to 2 whole Jalapenos per person.
Bacon Rashers
Philidelphia Cream Cheese
Sweet Chilli Sauce

I never said it was going to be good for you! :)

Cut the stem end of the Jalapeno off and remove the seeds and pith with the end of a knife.

Mix the Philadelphia Cream Cheese with the Sweet Chilli sauce - just enough to get the flavour of the sauce through, you dont want to make the Cheese runny. Alternativly you can buy Philadelphia Sweet Chilli Filli - which is already done for you.

Pack the Jalapeno with as much of the Sweet Chilli Filli as you can.

Lay out one Bacon Rasher on a flat surface, then starting at the large end of the rasher, roll the Jalapeno up in the bacon. When there is a few inches to go use the remaning tail end to cover the open end of the Jalapeno.

Now, wrap the whole thing in a sheet of Aluminium Foil.

Place this in an oven at 180C for 45 minutes.
(Careful, the foil will be hot)

These things are addictive!

Cheers
