chilli book review
The Chili Lovers Cookbook. by Jenni Fleetwood
Classification: Recipes + Reference (a little)
Illustrated: Yes
Overall Rating : 7/10
As you can probably tell from the cover, there are lots of large, glossy photos throughout this book - to the extent that they constitute around 50% of the total content.
At the start of tbook there are a good number of pages with some introductory information to the history, variety and uses of chillies. Including recipes for your own spice mixes, pastes, oils and even chilli pasta.
Then onto the recipes; a good selection of cuisines from around the world is represented in the 140+ recipes that Jenni has included in here.
The majority of the recipes show the finished product plus one or two photos of the intermediate steps in getting there. It is this latter inclusion that gives this book a lift above the ordinary as it is a great teaching aid - something I with I had time for with my recipes, but just don't.
Overall, Jenni's work represents decent value new, but if you can find it secondhand, then it's great value for $10-$15.
Worthy being in your collection - it's certainly in mine.
