All The Barbecue Tips You'll Ever Need

The Ultimate Way To Cook Also A Pretty Good Way To Cook

This page is all about what we believe are the barbecue tips you're ever going to need for great day in front of the 'cue ! Smoke, beer, chillies, grilled meat ! It's all good !

Preventing Rust On The Grill

  • A little work after you finish using the BBQ will save you a lot of work later on. Once you've finished cooking, simply put all burners on high for 5 minutes to convert any food scraps to carbon. When it's cooled a bit, give the plate and grill a good scrape. Pour some cooking oil on the plate and rub it in with some paper towel. With the same paper towel, rub the grill to give it a bit of a coat of oil as well. That's it. Six minutes work saves you having to get out the steel wool or wire brush to take all the rust off the next time you want to use the BBQ.

Marinade Basics

  • Use these points when making up your mind what liquids to use in your marinades.
    • Poultry - apple juice, white wine, cranberry juice
    • Pork - red wine vinegar or apple cider blended in equal parts with olive oil
    • Red Meat - Beer, cider, red wine, ale

Marinades & Food Poisoning

  • No ! It's not cool to scrape some of the marinade off the meat before you cook it and use it as a sauce later on. Uncooked marinade contains the germs off the uncooked meat (all meat has them) and will make you and your family and friends as sick as a dog. If you want to use it separately, boil it for 5 minutes before-hand.
